"He Maketh No Mistake"

This was a poem that Keith Johnson carried around with him. I was meaning to put this up in my last post, but I had forgotten about it. I believe the history of this poem is that A.M. Overton wrote it when his wife died from cancer. When John made a slideshow about Keith he intertwined this poem with the pictures. For those of us who knew Keith and knew about his struggle with depression it's perfect...

My Father's way may twist and turn,
My heart may throb and ache,
But in my soul I'm glad to know,
He maketh no mistake.

My cherished plans may go astray,
My hopes may fade away,
But I'll trust my Lord to lead
For He doth know the way.

Tho' night be dark, and it may seem
That day will never break,
I'll pin my faith, my all in Him,
He maketh no mistake.

There's so much now I cannot see,
My eyesight's far too dim;
But come what may, I'll simply trust
And leave it all to Him.

For by and by the mist will lift
And plain it all He'll make,
Through all the way, tho' dark to me
He made not one mistake.

Keith Johnson

Some of you may be wondering what all has been going on in my life this last week and a half. While I was at BJU I had a group of friends i always hung out with on the weekendw. My boyfriend, Keith Johnson, the Gilstraps (Mr. and Mrs. and their son JA), and JA's girlfriend Andrea. Keith Johnson was John's cousin and best friend. Keith committed suicide while on vacation in Georgia last week with JA, Andrea, and some of her friends. It was completely unexpected and no one saw it coming. I flew out here Thursday night in time to help with the viewing and the funeral and i'll be here till Thursday this week. That is pretty much an update of my life right now. I've really appreciated everyone's prayers. I know Keith is in a better place right now, and that is what has been a comfort for everyone. This week has been hard, but i think the worst maybe hasn't happened yet because we all are numb. We all miss Keith, but I know I am not the one who misses him the most. John, Keith's family, the Gilstraps, Andrea, and hit others friends are the one's that are hurting the most and need the most prayer. Thank you all for your prayers and support...We really all appreciate it. :)

To Keith

Hey Keith,

Just wanted to say hello and tell you what I thought of you. I loved meeting you. I knew you had to be an amazing guy because John talked so highly of you. You were his best bud and I know you always gamed with him. I wish I had been able to get to know you more. I loved talking to you on facebook….Seeing you at the Gilstraps. I know that I wasn’t the closest person to you or anything but I’m so glad that I knew you as long as I did. I know it’s too late to tell you all of these things, I wish I had told them to you as soon as I thought them. Thanks for giving me a hug goodbye when I saw you a few weeks ago. I am so glad I got to give you a hug… I promise you I won’t ever forget that hug. Thanks for letting me say goodbye… Thanks for being my boyfriends best friend…Thanks for those smiles of yours, they were darling… I know you are in a better place now, and I know your happy…:) I hope there is someone still making you things filled with sugar…I miss you…We all miss you….Love you Keith

P.S I Love your hair… You should have been a model with that hair of yours…☺

Nahum 1:7
The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him…

Matthew 11:25-30
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light….

Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

So, Gluten free.

In my opinion those are 2 words I do not care to have in my vocabulary, but since being home that is what i'm required to cook with because of my little brother, James. Today I made cookies with tapioca flour and i'm amazed! They are actually really good! They taste a little different and you have to really watch them when you cook them...

Plus...

I tripled the amount of chocolate chips your supposed to put in them....

Hehe....

But they turned out really yummy! I've realized that you can measure tapioca flour as the same amount as the original flour the recipe calls for and it works just fine. The texture is a tad bit grainy with raw batter but the graininess cooks out.

P.S The picture above is not actually what they looked like, but it's close ;)

On another note...

I love this picture....I post it thinking of my roommate Amanda Meadows :)

On another note...I have a love/hate relationship to tell you about...

:D

On a completely unrelated sidenote...

I miss him

Things I learned/thought about on my flight from Greenville to Washington

-That I can only play about 17 levels of angry birds before my eyes start twitching

-Goodbyes suck

-The song “Anything but Ordinary” by Avril Lavigne reminds me of my best friend, Elea Chinalski

-The moment I said goodbye to my roomies and my friend Tori at BJU made me want to never make new friends ever again. Because then I might have to say goodbye to them and not leave until I take an excessive amount of pictures.

-That I finally started feeling like myself again after Wednesday…When finals were over, and after my Psych exam when I went and did some retail “therapy” and I wondered why that wasn’t an official proper way to deal with problems according to science.

-I realized on Friday that Zazby’s has amazing fried chicken strips

-My boyfriends family is wonderful :) (This is not a new realization, I just had to state it on my blog so everyone else in the world can know)

-The Hispanic/Latino community is really sweet and has amazing parties, and there church services are soooo different from us white people services…. :D

-I can’t wait to get home and go to the Movie Theatre.

-I can’t wait to go over to Jasleen’s house and watch 5 hour long Indian movies and eat Butter Chicken

-You get free stuff when you wear shorter skirts….
Now let me explain this one. For my new bathing suit attire I bought a Tankini and a shorter skirt to wear with it. (it’s not technically a mini skirt but its close..) Either way its cute. Because it was so hot and humid today in Gville I decided to wear it on the plane. Therefore I paid less for my luggage with the male attendant helping me… Woot right?
(Disclaimer- This is not meant to offend anyone :D)
Lesson learned for me?
When wanting to spend less money….wear a shor…HA JUST KIDDING…Always wear a Burka
-I can’t wait to visit Corban and drive again…lots

-I really like Jason Mraz…

-I miss blaring music really loudly when I’m alone in my car

-I can’t wait for my best friend to visit Washington State this summer

-I can’t wait to see my Best friend Elea this summer

-I can’t wait to have coffee/lunch with Megan this summer

-I can’t wait to ACTUALLY go to church on Sunday mornings instead of Mass!

-I am so grateful for my roomies, Tori, the Caballero’s, Elea, and Jasleen or else I would have died this semester (no joke)

-I should have booked my ticket home on May 14th because Kenny CHESNEY is coming to Greenville May 13th!!!!!!!!
I.E…Ariell kicking herself the entire flight home for being such an idiot and not looking at who all is coming to Gville to sing and play after being let out of school

-I really want to watch Water for Elephants and The Lucky One

-I miss Swing Dancing and Dancing period…This summer I would like to become good at everything I can…. It is one of my summer goals along with the all-time-existing one of losing weight

-I can’t wait to go to a cabin in the middle of nowhere with Elea in Goldendale this summer so that we can play loud music in her truck for 4 hours and eat fast food :D

-I am going to miss ChickFila…and Thai Restaurant…and Zaxby’s…and all the other restaurants that are in SC and not Washington. Therefore I propose I start up all those restaurants and become a trillionare overnight…
